NEW PATIENT DATA ENTRY

  1. Press the two Reset Buttons and the Set New Patient Button on the front of the Synchrodyne.

  2. Press the four Reset Buttons on the testing platform.

  3. Move the arrow to Instrument Calibration, click the left key once, and release.

  4. Move the arrow to Calibrate, then press the key once and release to activate the calibration sequence.

  5. Calibrate will become highlighted in white.

  6. A red dotted line will move across the screen on the 000 line accompanied by a beeping  noise as each dot appears. JUST WATCH the line go across the screen for 3 passes.

  7. Keep the arrow on Calibrate and press the key each time the calibration sequence stops, until you are aware of how little time you have to calibrate the Synchrodyne during the calibration sequence.

  8. Initially it will take you some time to get the instrument calibrated at both 0 and 100, but with practice you will be able to calibrate the instrument at 0 and 100 during the time it takes for the dots to go across the screen 3 times.

  9. Locate the Test Event Reading at the lower right hand of the screen that gives you a numerical representation of what the calibration values actually are.

  10. If the red line does not travel along the 000 line and the Test Event Reading does not register 0, then turn the Calibrate Lo Limit Knob on the Synchrodyne to the right to increase the reading or to the left to lower the reading until you get the Test Event Reading to register a solid zero.

  11. To calibrate the Synchrodyne at 100 insert the 2 mm probe tip into the small hole in the side of the hand cylinder or press in the Test Processor Button and keep it pressed in. You can do either, but holding in the Test Processor Button is usually easier. Then start the calibration sequence again by pressing the key, with the arrow positioned exactly on Calibrate.

  12. Check to see if the moving bars that appear on the screen rise to the 100 and the Test Event value at the bottom of the screen reads 100. If the reading is above or below 100 adjust the Calibrate Hi Limit Knob on the Synchrodyne to return the reading to 100. Turning to the right increases the reading and to the left decreases the reading.

  13. The calibration sequence will always make 3 complete passes.

  14. If you do not get the instrument calibrated at 0 and 100 during this time, continue to keep the arrow on Calibrate and press the key as many times as you need to finish the calibration sequence.

  15. Locate the Sensor Noise Level indicator at the bottom of the screen. While you are calibrating, notice the color of the Sensor Noise Level.

  16. If it is blue for Good or purple for Normal, testing can be done accurately. If red for Reset All Sensors appears, wait until the instrument stops the calibration sequence and press the two Reset Buttons, the Set New Patient Button on the Synchrodyne, and the four Reset Buttons on the testing platform once.

  17. Then reactivate the calibration sequence using the key. The Sensor Noise Level should turn to blue for Good or purple for Normal.

  18. The default setting for Method is Voll. You do not have to change it.

  19. The default setting for Sensor is All in Operation. You will not change it.

  20. The default setting for Electrodes is 2 mm <BRASS>. You will not change it.

  21. Move the arrow to Test and press the key. Self Test in Progress will appear on the screen for about 8 seconds as the Synchrodyne goes through a self-diagnostic test. If an error message shows on the screen call us.

  22. The only two things you will do will be Calibrate and Test. The others are all set for the defaults that are not changed.

  23. Move the arrow to Exit and hold down the key and move the arrow to Yes and release. The Synchrodyne will return to the Main Menu automatically.
