Boyd Bennett Died From Complications With Pulmonary Fibrosis

At the age of 76, Boyd passed away peacefully in a hospital in Sarasota Florida. Boyd suffered from many health problems during his life. He battled to breathe for the last 23 years. Pulmonary fibrosis caused by inhaling asbestos dust, while serving on troop transport ships during World War II, robbed him of energy and vitality.

Boyd was one of the finest human beings ever to live on this earth in any century. All who knew him through his music, businesses and family will severely miss him. He helped many people during his lifetime. His kindness, generosity and love for Jesus were legendary.

Boyd Bennett is a pioneer in the music industry. In 1955, he wrote and sang the first two teenage rock & roll hits "Seventeen” and “My Flattop.” Over 3 million copies were sold, instantly making him wealthy beyond his wildest dreams.

“Seventeen” and “My Boy Flattop” Revolutionized the Music Industry “Seventeen” was the first rock & roll song created for teenage girls. “My Flattop” focused on teenage boys. Boyd’s songs revolutionized the music industry. They created an entirely new sound. Teenagers suddenly became a huge marketing focus. He deserves to be inducted into the “Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.”

Wealth Does Not Guarantee Health

Unfortunately, wealth at any age does not guarantee health. Boyd served on troop US Navy transport ships during WWII. He survived a serious leg wound, but was injured beyond imagination. He did not know his lungs were filled with microscopic asbestos fibers from the pipe insulation on the ships.

Cancer Threatens Boyd’s Life

In the prime of his life, Boyd came down with cancer, specifically lymphoma, in 1974. The doctors said it had been developing for many years and was in danger of infecting the spleen. Death was calling, a song he did not want to hear or sing.

Radiation and Chemotherapy Controlled the Cancer

For sixty days his groin and stomach areas were exposed to intense radiation. After two weeks off, he received another sixty treatments. Over the next thirty days, the doctors administered four chemotherapy treatments. Finally, the cancer was under control.

Death By Terminal Pulmonary Fibrosis In Three To Five Years

As if Boyd did not already have enough problems, in 1981 he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis caused by his exposure to asbestos fibers during WWII. Doctors said he was a dead man with only 3-5 years maximum to live. There were no known therapies.

To make matters worse, doctors warned Boyd a heart attack was imminent. Coronary heart disease was the culprit. Doctors recommended immediate heart bypass surgery, but it was almost a moot point. They believed he only had a couple of years to live anyway.

Desperation Leads To Exploration

Boyd was desperate. The medical prognosis did not look good. No one wants to die prematurely. Boyd decided to search the world for alternative therapies. There had to be other options, possible solutions to his life threatening diseases and impotence problems.

A Solution Was Right In His Own Backyard

Through word of mouth advertising from friends and business acquaintances, Boyd heard rumors about a Robert J. Winslow, DO. A new therapy called chelation was producing amazing results. Boyd decided to check it out.

Miracle of miracles! Not only did Boyd’s coronary heart disease disappear, his erectile dysfunction got much better. He was overjoyed. Even his breathing improved. Boyd created a new company called Revive, Inc. to make available to other men safe, effective solutions to impotence.

In the early 1980s, when AIDS became a major epidemic, Boyd realized condoms would play a critical role in people’s efforts to protect uninfected partners. One day, Boyd suddenly realized the compression rings that prevented the blood from escaping from the penis could be used to keep condoms in place during sex. He helped design a new ring that was a very effective answer to the frequent breaking and displacement of condoms during sex. They were called Condom-Loc Rings.
