Question: What are some simple, inexpensive things I can do to prevent my coming down with a quality of life threatening disease? - I
have heard a lot about the "Atkins Diet." Is it safe and effective? - What is the best way to minimize my risks of heart attack and stroke? - How valuable is chelation and what does it do?
Answer: Diet, exercise, and looking at your own personal health history are key elements for preventing disease. For Cardio-Vascular benefits, I prefer the Zone Diet. The best information on
chelation you can find is reading some of the books about chelation, such as Bypassing Bypass or Forty Something Forever.
Question: Do you have any information about the effects of honey on the oral cavity for wound healing?
Answer: Personally I do not have any
information. My understanding is that it may be helpful.
Question: I have heard of machines
that test the energy of acupuncture points. What does this information tell you? - COMMENTS: What's the best, non-invasive, treatment for umbilical/intestinal hernia? I am 45 years old and I suffer from a
painful intestinal hernia. My navel gets hard and painful; I get nauseated, vomit everything I eat or drink. The medical doctor pushed in my protruding belly -button. Since then I am feeling o.k. but not
completely normal. Occasionally, I have pain in the abdominal area. Thank you for any suggestion you offer.
Answer: The machines are usually called EDS or Computerized Electro Dermal System. It lets you know which of your body's different parts are in an inflammation or degenerative state. It helps in observing
the state of the body. If the hernia gets larger you may want to consider surgery. You should talk with your doctor about possible strangulated bowel.
Question: Do you do sclerotherapy for various veins? Is there any bad side-effect?
Answer: No. Not
that I know of.
Question: Does anyone know what has happened to Dr. Robert Boyd? I took a class from
him in 1995 along with my employer, Dr. Harry Shullo, who is blind, and Dr. Boyd trained me in the BioCranial technique so I could observe Harry and make sure he practiced it correctly. Dr. Boyd said I
could be certified AFTER I graduated from another health discipline (I was, and am, a CMA) I am graduating from Trinidad State Junior College May 8 with a 700+ hour certificate in massage therapy and wrote
to him with the address which he had given me (written in my book from his course) but he is no longer there. I would really like to have that certificate as I like doing that procedure during massages if
the client needs it. I was looking for Dr. Boyd when I found your newsletter. I would also like to know if there are any employment agencies you know of which handle massage therapists looking for work?
Another question - how do you feel about the glyco products and the new hydrogen products? Thanks for your help.
Answer: I do not know about the glycol products. Dr. Boyd has a website you can contact him through. http://www.biocranial.com.
Question: How valuable is chelation and what does it do?
Answer: Chelation is recognized for Heavy
Metals. There are other uses found to be of great value, but not recognized by FDA.
Question: Dr.
Miranda, My father's endo. wants him (84 and diabetic) to take Vitamin C just to prevent oxidation of the LDL. He does great, eats right and controls Hba1c=6.0% and monitors homocysteine which is normal
through B-complex supplements. (8.4) Could you give your honest opinion between non-corn derived vitamin C from beets which has "right spin" and claimed to be most biologically active as opposed to corn
derived vitamin C which has "left spin" and claimed to have no or little biologically activity and even harmful. Which vitamin C do you like (brand) and does it matter if it's "ascorbic" as opposed to
ascorbate, because of the theory that "ascorbic" C will make your body more acid thus, promote more disease states. I understand everything, but it's confusing on who is telling the truth about vitamin C.
Answer: Biological natural C is the best, but at age 84 and the degenerative processes as well as free radicals, I feel it would be a good benefit.
Question: I am concerned that I may have some electrical things within my body that causes watches to not work, I've driven 7 cars in 5 yrs., every one the driver's window breaks or just won't work. For
most of this life for me has been a constant learning lesson. There isn't a solid week that goes by uneventful. Hugely eventful is more like it. Could there be something to the electrical currents within
my body that is haywire? Something is completely out of balance. I'll soon be 41 and extremely tired of nothing working out or going smooth. Thank You for taking the time.
Answer: It is possible, but I am not sure where to go for help.
